PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico is off to Vernon College for a three-day rodeo to close out the 2024 fall portion of the season. Before afternoon slack begins, please read the Three Barrel Preview:

1.) All Around: Shacie Marr made it two years in-a-row winning the all-around at the Texas Tech rodeo. Marr made it back in three different events where she garnered over 170 points. In the barrels she posted times of 17.61s and 17.36s to earn 100 points. The Tularosa, N.M. native continues to impress in the goats where she held times of 7.7s and 8.0s to get another 65 points. Lastly, her 2.8s in breakaway during the long round guaranteed 7.5 points after splitting 5/6/7/8.

2.) Ranking High: Eastern New Mexico women's rodeo continues to improve the program's standing among southwest region programs. Currently, the team sits in fifth place less than 30 points away from fourth place Texas Tech. Shacie Marr ranks in the top-15 in three different events this season - goat tying (7^th), barrels (11^th), and breakaway (14^th). Shaeden Marr sits seventh in the region in breakaway roping. She is just 90 points behind the region's leader.

3.) Past Success: The women's program has placed in the top-ten at Vernon College three years in-a-row, including a pair of sixth place nods. Three returners for ENMU women made it back a year ago in Vernon. Greeley Eastep, Shaeden Marr, and Shacie Marr represented Eastern in the Saturday night final. Shacie is looking to make it back at Vernon College for the fourth time in her collegiate career. She has advanced to the short go in goat tying each of the last three rodeos held at Vernon. Two years ago, Eastern New Mexico men earned a twelfth-place finish at the competition. They are looking to earn crucial points this weekend as it is the final rodeo before the spring season in 2025.
