PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball begins its season in Durango, Colo., with a pair of games against South Central Region opponents. First, ENMU takes on in-state rival New Mexico Highlands on Friday, November 8, beginning at 1 p.m. Then, Eastern plays Fort Lewis on Saturday, November 9, with the contest starting at 6 p.m.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
- Eastern New Mexico comes into the season following a 11-17 overall record in the 2023-24. Head Coach Blake Huber returns for his second season as the leader of the Greyhounds. ENMU recruited 10 reinforcements, with a mixture of transfers and four freshmen.
- Last season, the Greyhounds posted 59.2 ppg, while allowing 62.5 ppg. Offensively, the Eastern shot 38.9% from the field, and connecting on nearly 30% of three-point attempts. Additionally, the Greyhounds pull down 32.4 rebounds per game, dishing out 9.9 assists per game, with 9.3 steals per game.
- ENMU bring back a pair of notable returners, as Jaz Salon and Ishuana Hunter comeback after receiving LSC recognition in 2023-24. Hunter posted a team best 14.4 ppg and 5.3 rpg to lead the Greyhounds for averages. Salon led the Greyhounds to a three-point percentage, while pacing ENMU for assists with 2.5 per game.
- For transfers, Trinity Hudson will make an immediate impact in the front court, joining from Arkansas-Little Rock. Jayla Smith brings experience from Delta State, while Tatiana Platonova spent a pair of seasons at Wichita State.
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS
- New Mexico Highlands come into the season following a 6-22, 5-17 RMAC record. 1st year head coach Lindsey Fearing and the Cowgirls were selected 14th in the Preseason RMAC Women's Basketball Poll.
- Last season, the Cowgirls scored 54.5 ppg, and allowed 67.4 ppg on defense. NMHU picked up 33.8 boards per contest, while finding 11.1 assists per game, and 6.7 steals per game.
- Historically, the Greyhounds and Cowgirls have played each other 51 times. ENMU won the last meeting in 2023, pulling out a 70-64 game in overtime. ENMU have won nine of the last ten matchups.
SCOUTING THE SKYHAWKS
- The Skyhawks host the south-central region crossover under new head Fort Lewis Lauren Zuniga. Zuniga brought in seven transfers and six freshmen, bolstering a 20-player roster. FLC was selected 12th in the RMAC Preseason Poll, finishing with 52 points.
- In the 2023-24 season, Fort Lewis garnered a 12-16 overall record holding a 9-13 conference record. FLC averaged 65.8 points per game compared to 66.7 per game from the opposition. They were -9 on rebounds but averaged 17.5 free throws per game with a FT % of 76.1 to rank fourth in the RMAC.
- Eastern travels to Durango, Colo. for the first time since 2019, winning five consecutive games against the Skyhawks. Last season, Eastern pulled away with a 78-57 win on home court. In the all-time series the Greyhounds 17-12 against the Skyhawks.
