PORTALES, N.M. – Riding a five-game winning streak, Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball play their final home game of 2024 on Saturday, December 7, as Cameron comes to Portales. First tip is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena. ENMU Athletics is holding a toy drive at Saturday's game, giving free admission to those that donate a new unwrapped toy, with proceeds going to Matt 25 Hope Center in Clovis, N.M.

SERIES INSIGHT
- Eastern and Cameron have a long history as conference opponents, meeting for the 48th time in series history. The Greyhounds have the all-time lead against the Aggies, 29-18, and in all conference meetings, 20-12.
- Cameron got the better of the Greyhounds during both meetings last season. CU started with a road victory over ENMU in overtime (72-68, 1/11/24), then pulled out a home victory 68-64 (2/10/24).
- In the last six meetings, ENMU has lost four games by less than five points, while winning two games by at least ten points.
- Eastern has only lost five games at home against the Aggies, with the most recently loss being the overtime defeat in 2024.
- The teams first met in 1988, with Aggies holding onto a 71-63 win over the Greyhounds (1/30/88).
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
- The Greyhounds notched their second conference win of the season during there last game, improving to 7-1 on the season with a five game-winning streak. ENMU had both season high percentages for field goals and three-pointers in the 84-48 conference win. Â
- Following the big victory, Eastern improves their conference leading scoring (80.4 ppg) and league high scoring margin (+25.9). The Greyhounds defense allows just 54.5 ppg, with a conference high 44.9 rpg, and LSC low 29.8 opponent rebounds per game. Eastern paces the conference for field goal shooting (46.2%) and three-point shooting (38.8%), while shooting 70.2% at the foul line.
- Eight different student-athletes are scoring seven or more points per game, led by 10.1 ppg from Ishuana Hunter. Hunter poured in 20 points in their last game, averaging just 18.0 minutes per game. Nataya Lockett is the team's leading scorer this season with 79 points (9.9 ppg), while Jayla Smith (9.5 ppg), Kaitlyn Edmondson (9.4 ppg), and Jaz Salon (9.2 ppg) all have over nine points per game.
- ENMU also shares the load for rebounding, with six different players finding over four rebounds per game. Edmondson leads the effort on the glass with 5.9 rpg, while J. Smith (5.8 rpg), and Julieta Ceja (5.0 rpg) are big factors in the paint. Salon averages over three assists per game and 2.4 steals per game to lead the team.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
- The Aggies opened their conference slate last night, falling to West Texas A&M 79-58 in Canyon. Cameron drops to 2-3 overall on the season, playing their first games outside of Oklahoma this season.
- Cameron is scoring 62.0 ppg, while giving up 71.2 ppg. Cameron has struggled with a 35.1% field goal percentage (2nd lowest in LSC), while shooting 30.1% from deep, and 80.4% free throw percentage. CU is finding 30.6 rebounds per game, dishing out 12.0 assists per game, with 4.6 spg, and 1.6 bpg.
- Shamica Smith stands out with 11.4 ppg and 8.4 rpg, leading the team in both categories. Grace Alverson is the team's top three-point shooter, averaging 11.3 ppg with 13 made threes this season. Madison Griggs chips in with 9.6 ppg for the Aggies.
- Kennedy Cummings, Kenly Gore, and Alannah Gillespie all have over two assists per game as the primary ball handlers. Alverson helps on the glass with 4.4 rpg, as Aubrie MeGehee controls 3.3 rpg in just 10.8 minutes per game.
