RICHARDSON, Texas — Capping off a six-game winning streak at home, Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball's
Trinity Hudson has been named Lone Star Conference (LSC) Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. Hudson earns their first player of the week honor of the season, joining
Jayla Smith in earning defensive player of the week honors this season. This marks the first time two different student-athletes have won defensive player of the week honors since 2018-19 (Treyanna Clay and Alivia Lewis).
The senior forward/center pulled down 8.5 rebounds per game and had 2.0 blocks per game, helping the Greyhounds to a pair of conference wins. Hudson pulled down six rebounds (led team) and posted a pair of blocks in just 16 minutes from the bench, as ENMU beat Oklahoma Christian 84-48.
During the 82-54 victory over Cameron, Hudson moved into the starting lineup and grabbed a season high 11 rebounds to lead the team. The Little Rock, Ark. native collected nine defensive rebounds, adding two blocks and two steals. Hudson finished with a 20 plus/minus, with the Aggies shooting just 35% inside the paint, and 37.7% in the game.
The Greyhounds take their first conference road trip for its next game, heading to Laredo, Texas to face Texas A&M International. ENMU battles the Dustdevils on Sunday, Dec. 15, beginning at 12 p.m. (MST)/1 p.m. (CST).
