GREENWOOD, Ind. – Ashley Shipley of Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball has received Academic All-District® Honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC), on Tuesday morning. This is the first time Shipley has been selected to the CSC Academic All-District Team.
A physical education major, Shipley played a major role this season playing in every game, including 24 starts, averaging 29.0 minutes per game for head coach
Blake Huber's squad. Shipley has maintained a 3.84 cumulative GPA through their collegiate careers spending the first two years of their academic career at Texas A&M-Commerce and the last two seasons at Eastern New Mexico. The Tucumcari, N.M. native averages 5.2 ppg, with connecting on 1.4 three-pointers per game (18
th in LSC) totaling 40 three-pointers on the season (2
nd on the team) and was tied for a team high seven blocks this season.
In order to be considered for the CoSIDA Academic All-America program, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve, playing in 90% of the team's games or start in 66.6% of the team's games with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
Shipley will now move on to the ballot for CSC Academic All-America consideration. First- and second‐team Academic All‐America® honorees will be announced on April 16
th.
