PORTALES, N.M. – St. Mary's earned a series finale win over Eastern New Mexico Softball, as the Greyhounds fell 9-0 (6 Inn.) on Saturday afternoon at Greyhound Softball Field. The win supplies a series win for the Rattlers. The Greyhounds shift to 25-25 overall with an 18-24 LSC record. St. Mary's improves to 31-23, with a 26-16 conference record.
Both teams had opportunities to score runs in the opening frame. St. Mary's took advantage of back-to-back hits, picking up the games first runs with two outs. Eastern loaded the bases in the first inning, following a leadoff single from 
Mikenzey Patterson and two walks. However, the Rattlers escaped the inning with a popup. St. Mary's increased the advantage to 3-0 with a two-run single into right center, following a walk and a hit-by-pitch.
 
Following a scoreless 4
th inning, the Rattlers jumped up big with two runs in the 5
th and four runs in the 6
th. A ground-rule double scored a pair of runs during the 5
th inning, while the Greyhounds had their opportunity in the bottom of the inning. A pair of singles from Patterson and 
Samantha Gutierrez set up two runners in scoring position with no outs. However, St. Mary's three non-productive outs to keep ENMU scoreless. A pair of hits and three errors pushed the score to 9-0, as the Rattlers picked up the win in six innings.
NOTABLE STATS
	- The Rattlers outhit Eastern 11-8, providing three doubles as a team. Valeria Contreras posted the lone double for the Greyhounds, while Patterson swiped one base.
- Contreras finished 3-3 at the dish, including the double. Patterson picked up a pair of singles, while Gutierrez, Cecy Jurado, and Judith Osuna also grabbed singles.
- In the circle, Marissa Rodriguez tossed four innings in the loss with three runs allowed from seven hits. Jordan Rivera threw 1.1 innings pitched giving up six runs (three earned). Ciara Loken recorded a pair of outs, facing four batters.
- Madeline Bloom earned the complete game victory, striking out five batters with four walks in the shutout.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
	- With their stolen base in the first inning, Patterson ties the all-time program record for stolen bases with 53. This ties them with previous record holder Laura Thompson, who finished with 53 stolen bases on 56 attempts over the course of two seasons (2008-09).
- Over the weekend, Gutierrez caught four runners stealing from behind the plate. The Rattlers entered the weekend with a league leading 93 stolen bases and finished 0-4 on the weekend.
- The Greyhounds honored its three graduating seniors (Jurado, Patterson, and Taighen Whitzel), along with graduate assistant Shaylah Dominguez.
- Eastern now advance to the 2024 Lone Star Conference Softball Tournament, held in Canyon, Texas hosted by West Texas A&M. The full LSC Bracket and details are set to be released over the weekend.
