PORTALES, N.M. – Christian Williams is joining the Eastern New Mexico University football program as an assistant coach. At ENMU, he will work directly with the running backs.

"Coach Williams is a great addition to our program," said head coach Kelley Lee. "He brings key experience with triple option football, which will be a great benefit to the Greyhounds."
Williams arrives to Portales after a season coaching at the University of La Verne in California. He helped the Leopards offense gain more than 250 yards per contest.

The Oakland, Calif. Native has coached at five other institutions - Northwestern State University, Lincoln University, American River Community College, Pacific University, and Lindenwood University. In these roles, he has had direct oversight with recruiting, game film, offense strategy, coaching defensive backs, monitoring academic success, and game management.
He also has played professional football in Mexico (Mexico City Mayas) and Brazil (Juventude Futbol Americano).Â

Williams holds a bachelor's in kinesiology from William Penn in Iowa where he played collegiate football. He recently earned a master's in human performance from Northwestern State in Louisiana and has a master's in teaching from Lindenwood.
