PORTALES, N.M. — Eastern New Mexico University women's basketball head coach
Blake Huber announced today the addition of
Shay Moseberry to the Greyhounds roster for the upcoming season.
Moseberry, who spent last season redshirting at West Virginia University, joins ENMU after receiving an extra year of eligibility from the NCAA.
"We are thrilled to have Shay joining our team late in the preseason," said Huber. "It has been nerve racking to wait on her NCAA waiver process all fall, but we are fortunate the NCAA granted her an extra year of eligibility and super thankful she is going to spend her last year of college basketball as a Greyhound."
Before her time at WVU, Moseberry was a standout at South Plains College, where she earned Western Junior College Athletic Association First-Team All-Conference honors during the 2022-23 season. She averaged 11.1 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while starting all 28 games for a Lady Texans team that went 22-9 overall.
During her freshman campaign at South Plains, Moseberry helped lead the team to the Elite 8 of the NJCAA Women's Basketball National Tournament, averaging 7.8 points per game on 51.2% shooting.
"Shay automatically gives us a floor spacer that can shoot the ball at an extremely high clip," Huber added. "She also is super physical defensively and brings a lot of maturity to the floor. When you can add a BIG 12 transfer to your team at this level, that is always a positive."
A product of Madison East High School, Moseberry was named Big Eight Conference Player of the Year after averaging 18.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive 44.1% from three-point range during her senior season.
Moseberry is currently majoring in Communications at ENMU.
