PORTALES, N.M. – Dylan Quartieri was recognized to the 2025 Lone Star Conference all-academic team. He is the first Greyhound to earn this honor since 2023. Sports information directors at the conference institutions choose the list.

"It feels good," said Quartieri when asked about receiving the honor. "It is not done without the backbone from a good coaching staff and family who supports me through everything."

Quartieri is a redshirt junior studying physical education. He has earned Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll accolades six times as a Greyhound and holds a 3.63 grade point average. The Raton, N.M. native is pursuing a degree in physical education.

The fourth year Hound is a member of the President's Leadership Academy led by associate athletic director Sia Poyer.

"Dylan (Quartieri) is a natural leader," said Poyer when asked about the linebacker. "I am not surprised that he earned this recognition."

The honoree had 55 tackles in 2025 with 11 tackles for loss. He had a season high 13 tackles against Texas A&M-Kingsville and put up a season best 3.5 tackles for loss in a win over Western New Mexico. He also boasts one quarterback hurry and a pass breakup.

Quartieri eclipsed the 100 career tackle mark during Saturday's season finale against the Javelinas. He holds 110 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, and four sacks in his time with Eastern New Mexico.
