RICHARDSON, Texas — Pacing the Greyhounds in scoring over the weekend, Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball's
Nataya Lockett has been recognized as the Lone Star Conference (LSC) Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning. Lockett is the first Greyhound to earn the offensive POTW honor, becoming the fourth different Greyhound to win a weekly honor this season, joining
Jayla Smith (Nov. 25),
Trinity Hudson (Dec. 9), and
Ishuana Hunter (Dec. 23), all earning defensive players of the week. Lockett is the program's first offensive player of the week honoree since Treyanna Clay, doing so during the 2018-19 season (1/21/19).
The junior guard lead the Greyhounds in scoring (18.5 ppg) over the weekend, as ENMU earned two big victories over Angelo State and UT Permian Basin. First, the Omaha, Neb., native poured in 21 points on 10-16 shooting during a 71-67 victory over the Rambelles. In the following game, Lockett led ENMU again in scoring, finding 16 points against UT Permian Basin during a 71-66 win. Overall, Lockett finished shooting an efficient 61.5% from the field and 60.0% from range. Additionally, the guard supplied four steals and three blocks in the two games.
Eastern head on the road for their next games, first facing in-state rival Western New Mexico on Thursday, February 13, in Silver City. First tip is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
