PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball head to Alpine, Texas for the first time in over two decades to play Sul Ross State on Saturday, February 15. The LSC contest is set to begin at 12 p.m. (MST) / 1 p.m. (CST) from the Gallego Center.

SERIES INSIGHT
- Eastern and Sul Ross State meet for just the third time in 20 years, as the programs face each other for the second time this season. The Greyhounds pulled away with a 20-point win over SRSU in the first meeting, 98-78 (1/16/25).
- The Greyhounds are 31-2 overall against the Lobos, with the meeting in January being the first conference game between the schools.
- ENMU has won the last ten games against the Lobos, while a two game winning streak for the Lobos in 1985 broke up a Greyhounds 21-game winning streak to begin the all-time series.
- In the first meeting this season, the Greyhounds had ten players play 20 minutes each, with Nataya Lockett leading the scoring with 23 points. Five other Greyhounds scored over 10 points, while Jayla Smith finished with a double-double (12 points, 11 rebounds).
- ENMU and SRSU series dates to 1977, when the Greyhounds took the first ever contest 66-58 on the road (1/28/77).
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
- Eastern comes into the game on Saturday with a three-game winning streak, with a 16-8 overall record and 11-7 conference record. ENMU are closing in the top places in the LSC standings, currently sitting tied for 5th as the top eight teams reach the LSC Postseason Tournament.
- Eastern are the highest scoring team in the LSC, averaging 70.8 ppg. Defensively, the Greyhounds allow just 61.1 ppg, holding a +9.6 margin (4th in the LSC). ENMU are one of the best rebounding teams in the LSC, finding 40.6 rpg (3rd in LSC), allowing just 33.0 rpg (5th in LSC), posting the 2nd best rebounding margin in the conference (+7.6). Eastern is shooting 42.9% from the field, 35.1% from deep (2nd in LSC), and 69.1% at the foul line. Defensively, Eastern is pokes away 10.5 spg (2nd in LSC) with 3.2 bpg (4th in LSC), and providing 13.7 apg.
- Ishuana Hunter emerged as the leading scorer in the Greyhounds last game, adding to an individual high 11.5 ppg. Lockett adds 10.7 ppg, while J. Smith produces 9.7 ppg.
- J. Smith leads the team in rebounding with 6.4 rpg, while Julieta Ceja and Kaitlyn Edmondson each provide an identical 7.1 ppg and 5.0 rpg. Scoring 13 points on Thursday night, Abbi Holder has 6.9 ppg and provides 2.0 assists per game. Three other Greyhounds find over 2.0 apg, while Edmondson is averaging one block per night on defense.
SCOUTING THE LOBOS
- Sul Ross State are in their second season of reclassifying to Division II, coming up from Division III. The Lobos have struggled in conference play, holding a 1-17 LSC record, and a 2-19 overall record. Currently, SRSU look to snap a 18 game losing streak.
- On the season, the Lobos put up 58.9 ppg, but allow a league high 79.2 ppg. The SRSU offense shoots 35.2% from the field, hitting 26.9% from deep, and 67.7% at the charity stripe. Additionally, the Lobos record 29.4 rpg, 10.3 apg, and 9.0 spg.
- Four different Lobos are scoring over nine points per game, with Melody Martinez leading the team with 11.1 ppg. Victoria Aguayo leads the team with 6.3 rpg, along with 9.5 ppg. Cheyanne Bonilla posts a team best 3.5 apg to go along with 11.0 ppg, while TaMaiya Mims helps out in all areas with 10.4 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.3 apg, and 2.2 spg.
