SNYDER, Texas – Both Eastern New Mexico men's and women's rodeo scored points at the Western Texas College rodeo.

"I am pretty happy with what we're doing," said assistant coach Albert Flinn when asked about the weekend. "Two rodeos to go and if we get a couple other team members to get some points, we will be in good shape."

Shaeden Marr split 3/4/5 in a difficult breakaway field. The small arena made breakaway one of the toughest events of the weekend, including a sub-2.0s time to make it back. Marr went 1.9s in the long round, but couldn't get one in the short go. She finished with 30 overall points in the event.

Shacie Marr needed an excellent run to make it back in the barrels. Her 14.14s time made it happen and locked her in for ten team points. She hit a barrel in the short go and did not score any additional points.

The women's team finished with 40 points to take an eighth place nod.

The men's program had one of their most exciting finishes of the season. They took ninth overall with two team members scoring in the rodeo.

Zachary Townsend and Tyson Mackenzie both made it back to the short go in steer wrestling.

Townsend had the tenth and final time with a 9.2s run. However, his short go earned him second overall with a 4.3s time. His result was the fastest among the ten Saturday night and gave him a total of 110 points. Mackenzie took fourth with a 5.7s time in the long round. On Saturday night, he did not land a run and finished with the 30 total points. Overall, the program made the most of their trip to Snyder.

ENMU rodeo will be back in action in two weeks in Big Spring, Texas. The competition will be hosted by Howard College.
