RICHARDSON, TEXAS – The Lone Star Conference announced the 2024-25 LSC Scholar-Athlete Award winners today,
Daniel Pruitt (Gaston, Ore.) and
Sierra Villanueva (Aztec, N.M.) represented Eastern New Mexico University on the list.
Pruitt was one of the top power hitters for the Greyhounds during the 2025 season, helping the Hounds baseball program to a 27-23 record (most wins since 2018). The catcher brought in 32 RBIs with 10 home runs and a .561 slugging percentage. Earning a degree in sociology, Pruitt was recently named to the College Sports Communicators All-District Team and was named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll four times.
Villanueva spent all four seasons of their collegiate career playing with the Greyhounds Women's Soccer program, playing in 65 games with 55 starts. The defender accumulated over 4,700 minutes on the field, with a pair of goals and one assist with ENMU. Earning degrees in both Social Work and Spanish, Villanueva was named to the LSC All-Academic Team in the fall, while being recognized to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll each of their eight semesters at ENMU. Villanueva is also a two time College Sports Communicators All-District Team recipient.
Awardees are selected based on outstanding accomplishments in athletics, scholarship and leadership. To be eligible for consideration, student athletes must have participated at least two years in their sport and be a member of the graduating class.
