PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball wraps up its 2025 signing, as head coach
Blake Huber has announced the addition of Toyah Montgomery to the Hounds for the 2025-26 campaign. Montgomery joins the program Midland College, joining Chole Dallas, Aaliyah Smith, Mekhila Brown, Hannah Jensen, and Caela Tighe as part of these seasons recruiting class.
TOYAH MONTGOMERY, JUNIOR, WING, 6'0", MIDLAND COLLEGE
Toyah joins the Greyhounds after spending two seasons with Midland College, playing in 52 games and scoring over 500 points in that time. This past season, the Fresno, Calif. native averaged 12.0 ppg and 6.2 rpg, leading the team in scoring and was second in rebounding. Montgomery compiled three double-doubles, reaching 10 or more points in 19 of 30 games during the season. The wing poured in a career high 24 points on two occasions, during a road win over Ranger College (12/12), and a victory against New Mexico JC (2/20). Against Ranger, Montgomery finished 9-10 from the floor (career high for made field goals) cashing in on a trio of threes. In an upset win over NMJC, Montgomery shot an effective 6-10 shooting, while going 10-10 from the foul line. Montgomery pulled down a career best 13 rebounds against Frank Phillips (1/16) and Western Texas College (2/27).
"Toyah is someone we are extremely fortunate to have in our program," said Huber. "She is a legit six-foot wing that can play on the perimeter as a 3-and-D or can be a small ball four with her ability to facilitate and shoot the three. She played in a really good Region 5 junior college conference against D1 players every night, so that experience will be invaluable!" said Huber. "We can't wait to get her to Portales for the fall,".
ENMU cemented the 2024-25 season with the programs first ever win in the NCAA Tournament, finishing with a 21-11 record, and a 15-7 conference record.
