RICHARDSON, Texas – The Lone Star Conference announced Eastern New Mexico football as the 2024-25 academic champion. The program had the highest grade point average (2.859) among all ten LSC member institution football teams.
"I couldn't be more proud of the young men in our program. They are the epitome of what it means to be a student athlete," said head coach
Kelley Lee. "We go into every year with the goal of having the highest GPA in the Lone Star Conference and to see all that hard work come to fruition is very rewarding for our young men."
This marks the seventh time in the last nine years that Eastern New Mexico football has claimed the recognition of having the best GPA in the conference.
Over 80 student-athletes were recognized by the Lone Star Conference from the football program as members of the Commissioner's Honor Roll during the fall 2024 or spring 2025 semester.
Eastern New Mexico will begin the 2025 season with a home nonconference game against New Mexico Highlands at 6 p.m. on Aug. 28. Tickets will be available for purchase on Aug. 21.
