LUBBOCK, Texas – Beginning the 2025 M.G.M. Chap Invite, the Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team dropped its opening match to Southwestern Oklahoma State, 3-0, at the at the Rip Griffin Center in Lubbock, Texas.
 
"Southwestern Oklahoma State is a tough team and is coached well," stated head coach Karli Bustos. "We need matches like this to get us ready for conference. Matches like this expose a lot of weaknesses and we need to recognize them and get our mindset right for the next match."
 
SWOSU 3, ENMU 0 (12-25, 16-25, 15-25)

• Sophia Valdez finished with eight kills off 31 attempts and three digs.
• Catalina Gutierrez tallied seven assists while teammate Violeta Flores added five.
• Imahni Brown finished the match with 12 digs, 11 receptions, and three assists.
• McKenzie Hart recorded 3 blocks for the Greyhounds.

• ENMU trails the overall series against SWOSU, 4-7.

The Greyhounds have two matches tomorrow against Fort Lewis at 8 a.m. (MT) / 9 p.m. (CT) and CSU Pueblo 1 p.m. (MT) / 2 p.m. (CT) at the Rip Griffin Center.
