PORTALES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico women's basketball team will travel to Silver City to take on Western New Mexico University on Sunday, Jan. 5, at 12 p.m. MT.
 
The Greyhounds are riding high after a dominant 101-58 victory over Sul Ross State on Friday evening in Alpine. The win showcased ENMU's offensive firepower and balanced attack, with every player finding the scoring column.
 
Tatiana Platonova made program history in the victory, becoming the first Greyhound to record a double-double with assists after finishing with 14 points and 11 assists. Julieta Ceja also posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Five Hounds reached double figures in scoring: Platonova (14), Toyah Montgomery (14), Nataya Lockett (14), Ceja (12) and Jaz Salon (11).
 
ENMU enters Sunday's contest with an 8-4 overall record and a perfect 4-0 mark in Lone Star Conference play.
 
Ceja paces the Greyhounds individually, averaging 11.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. The versatile forward has also recorded 16 steals and is shooting an impressive .455 from three-point range. Aaliyah Smith contributes 10.9 points per game while shooting .417 from the field and has been a defensive force with 22 steals. Nataya Lockett adds 9.7 points per game to go along with 21 assists, 22 steals and 3.0 rebounds per game.
 
As a team, ENMU is averaging 72.8 points per game compared to opponents' 59.1. The Greyhounds are shooting .391 from the field and .331 from three-point range while holding opponents to .385 and .275, respectively. ENMU is outrebounding opponents 38.9 to 37.3 per game and dishing out 14.4 assists per game compared to opponents' 12.0. The Greyhounds are forcing 23.4 turnovers per game while committing just 16.5, and ENMU leads in steals with 13.1 per game compared to opponents' 7.7. The Greyhounds average 1.9 blocks per game compared to opponents' 2.0, and ENMU is shooting .669 from the free-throw line compared to opponents' .686.
 
Western New Mexico is searching for its first win of the season after opening with 10 consecutive losses. The Mustangs most recently fell to No. 8 West Texas A&M on Friday evening, 84-50.
 
Jordan Sapien leads the Mustangs individually, averaging 9.6 points per game and recording 20 assists while shooting .392 from the field. Natalie Magallanes contributes 7.6 points per game and has recorded 11 steals. Teeya Gordon also averages 7.6 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game.
 
As a team, Western New Mexico is averaging 51.0 points per game compared to opponents' 84.0. The Mustangs are shooting .316 from the field and .277 from three-point range while opponents are shooting .502 and .377, respectively. Western New Mexico is being outrebounded 33.4 to 40.3 per game and dishing out 7.3 assists per game compared to opponents' 16.4. The Mustangs commit 23.2 turnovers per game while forcing 15.4, and Western New Mexico averages 5.1 steals per game compared to opponents' 14.3. The Mustangs average 1.2 blocks per game compared to opponents' 3.7, and Western New Mexico is shooting .629 from the free-throw line compared to opponents' .718.
 
Following Sunday's contest, the Greyhounds will return home to the Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena in Portales, N.M., to host RV St. Mary's on Thursday, Jan. 8, at 5:30 p.m.
