Greyhounds head to Lawton for matchup against Cameron

LAWTON, Okla. - Eastern New Mexico women's basketball will look to snap a five-game skid when the Greyhounds travel to face Cameron on Saturday afternoon at Aggie Gym. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. CT.

Senior forward Chloe Dallas continues to anchor the Greyhounds' offense, averaging 13.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game while shooting an impressive .564 from the field. The veteran forward has also contributed 18 steals and 10 blocks on the defensive end this season.

Junior forward Julieta Ceja has been a consistent presence in the paint, posting 10.6 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. The Michoacan, Mexico native has been efficient from beyond the arc, connecting at a .413 clip from three-point range while adding 21 steals defensively.

Guard Aaliyah Smith provides a spark in the backcourt, averaging 9.5 points per game while leading the team's distribution with 51 assists. Smith has been active on the defensive end as well, recording 34 steals through the season.

Eastern leads the Lone Star Conference and ranks fifth in the nation in bench points per game at 35.0, showcasing the program's impressive depth. The Greyhounds' defensive pressure has been relentless, averaging 12.0 steals per game – third in the LSC and 32nd nationally.

The Hounds hold statistical advantages in several key categories, averaging 71.5 points per game compared to opponents' 61.6. Eastern New Mexico shoots .411 from the field while limiting opponents to .395. The Greyhounds dominate the glass with a 38.4 to 35.7 rebounding advantage and facilitate better ball movement with 14.5 assists per game compared to opponents' 11.4.

Eastern's defensive intensity forces 21.6 turnovers per game while committing just 16.8. The Greyhounds' 12.0 steals per game dwarfs opponents' 8.1, and ENMU also holds edges in blocks (2.3 to 1.9) and three-point shooting (.315 to .313).

The Greyhounds dropped its fifth consecutive game on Thursday, falling 66-55 to Oklahoma Christian in Edmond. Ceja paced Eastern with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field while pulling down nine rebounds and swatting three shots in 38 minutes. The junior forward also contributed two assists and a steal in the losing effort.

Dallas recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, her fourth double-double this season. The senior shot 5-of-16 from the field and 5-of-10 from the free-throw line while adding three steals, two assists and a block in 28 minutes of action.

The Aggies enter Saturday's contest having dropped four straight games, including a 75-59 loss to seventh-ranked West Texas A&M on Thursday evening in Lawton.

Madison Griggs leads Cameron's offensive attack, averaging 18.3 points per game while shooting .402 from the field. The guard has distributed 34 assists and recorded 11 steals while pulling down 3.1 rebounds per contest.

Kloe Heidebrecht provides a secondary scoring option at 11.9 points per game while contributing 4.4 rebounds. Heidebrecht has been active defensively with 19 steals and nine blocks despite shooting .347 from the field.

Mercedes Mancha rounds out the Aggies' top scorers at 10.3 points per game. Mancha connects at a .329 rate from three-point range and has recorded 19 steals while averaging 2.8 rebounds.

Cameron averages 58.9 points per game while allowing 75.1. The Aggies shoot .356 from the field compared to opponents' .409 and connect on .311 of three-point attempts while surrendering .341. Cameron converts .612 of free throws while opponents hit .751.

The Aggies are outrebounded 38.9 to 32.3 per game and are outpaced in assists 14.6 to 9.0. Cameron commits 19.0 turnovers per contest compared to opponents' 13.9. The Aggies record 6.1 steals per game while allowing 9.2 and block 1.8 shots compared to opponents' 2.2.

Griggs led the Aggies with 16 points on .412 shooting in Thursday's loss to WT.
