Hays, Kan. – The Eastern New Mexico University volleyball team concluded its season opener in Hays, Kan. at the 2026 Tiger Classic after falling 1-3 in a match against Hastings (Neb.).

The Greyhounds put up a great fight against the Broncos, keeping the score close or forcing the opposing team to push past 25 points. "We had a lot of opportunities to win, we just have to learn how to close," said head coach
Karli Bustos. "I'm confident that this team will figure that out."

HASTINGS 3, ENMU 1 (23-25, 25-21, 28-30, 21-25)
- Amya Speller led her team in kills, finishing the night with 19 total kills and earning five blocks.
- Freshman, Sydney Pipkin, tallied a total of 46 assists and ended the night with five kills.
- Transfer, Jordan Garcia finished the match with 21 total digs and four assists.
- Natalie Ceniceros was among the top three leaders in both kills (7) and blocks (8).

The Greyhounds have two matches tomorrow, August 28, against Regis at 8:30 a.m. (MT) and Truman State at 4 p.m. (MT) at the Gross Memorial Coliseum.
