PORTALES, N.M. — After one of the greatest regular seasons in team history, the Eastern New Mexico University women's soccer team (9-7) has advanced to the Lone Star Conference tournament for the third time in its 12 years of existence. The Zias will open play against 20
th ranked Angelo State, a team it split a home and home series with, during the season.
For the Season 2014 has been a season of resurgence for the Zia Soccer team. After a four-win season in 2013, Eastern has posted its most victories since the 2009 campaign. With 22 goals, ENMU has its highest scoring season since tallying 28 in 2010. The Zias six Lone Star Conference victories match the record set in the 2005 season, while they are just one win from tying the single-season mark, set in 2005.

ENMU dropped a 4-1 decision to top-seeded Texas A&M-Commerce in Edmond, Okla. Nicole Bregler scored for Eastern, while Stephanie Sanchez made 12 saves. On November 3, 2011,
the Zias dropped a 1-0 decision to sixth-seeded West Texas A&M. Sierra Cardenas made nine saves.
Eastern is 2-4 against the tournament field. The Zias split with both Angelo State and Midwestern State, but dropped two decisions to conference champion Texas A&M-Commerce.

Fabienne Wilson (Sr., GK, Alamogordo, N.M./Alamogordo HS/garden City CC) is fourth ENMU history in games played by a goalkeeper (20), minutes by a goalkeeper (1,839), games started in net (20), third in goals against average (1.22) and tied for fourth in wins (7). She also ranks fourth in career shutouts with six. Wilson's four shutouts this season trails only Sierra Cardenas (5 in 2009 and 6 in 2011). Her goals against average this season is the third best for a season with at least 1,000 minutes played.
Victoria Perez (Sr., D, Rio Rancho, N.M./Rio Rancho HS) and
Alyssa Prince (Sr., MF, Las Cruces, N.M./Mayfield HS) are tied for sixth in career points (26), while
Maurisa Jones (Sr., F, Goodyear, Ariz./Estrella Foothills HS) is tenth (20). Jones, Perez and Prince are tied for fifth in goals (11).
Carolyn Armijo (Jr., MF, Mesilla Park, N.M./Las Cruces HS) is tied for sixth on the career assist list (7) and two away from moving up. Prince trails only Megan Dozier and Samantha Lawrence in career game-winning goals
Last season, the Zias posted a 4-8-5 record with a 1-5-4 mark in Lone Star Conference play. The team played in a NCAA Division II record 10 overtime contests and earned five ties. Eight of those games went into a second overtime session. Eastern had at least one overtime game against every LSC opponent and two double overtime games against Angelo State.

The Rambelles are 20th in the nation in scoring, 19th in goals against average and eighth in shutout percentage.
Last season, ASU finished 11-5-2 and tied MSU for first in the standings. The Rambelles dropped a first-round game to WT in the LSC Tournament.
Last Time in the Series The Zias are 5-10-1 against Angelo State and
picked up a 2-0 win over the Rambelles earlier in the season, which handed ASU its first loss of the season.
The Rambelles followed with a 2-1 home win over Eastern.
Eastern is 4-10-2 against Midwestern State. The teams split this season, with each team winning at home.
The Zias are 2-13-1 against Texas A&M-Commerce. The Lions have won the last five meetings, with
ENMU last earning a 1-0 home win in early 2012, on a goal from Perez.
