PORTALES. N.M. — Last week at the Texas Tech,
Lindsey Adcock registered a first-place performance in the goat tying to lead the Eastern New Mexico University women's rodeo team to a second-place finish.
Eli Lord had another strong outing in the steer wrestling and finished fifth.
Texas Tech won the women's rodeo with 465 points, while ENMU compiled 222.5 points.
Adcock finished sixth in the first go, but bounced back to win the short round and average.
Ariana Sanchez finished sixth in the barrel race, while Paxton Segelke won the first go.
Tawny Berry split fifth and sixth in the first go of the breakaway roping. For the men's team, Lord placed tenth in the first round of steer wrestling, but moved up to fifth in both the short round and average.
At the end of the fall season, the women's team ranks second in the region, with all four goat tiers ranking in the top ten. In the barrel race,
Bailey Harwell is fifth. In the breakaway roping,
Tierra Gray is fifth, while Kacey Clark is eighth.
For the men's team,
Eli Lord is third in steer wrestling and third as a team-roping header.
Levi Lord ranks eighth as a team-roping header.
