PORTALES, N.M. —On Saturday, December 5th, the Eastern New Mexico University football team (6-5) will clash with Arkansas Tech (8-3) in the C.H.A.M.PS. Heart of Texas Bowl in Copperas Cove, Texas. The contest is the Greyhounds first postseason contest since playing Mesa College in the 1983 NAIA playoffs.

"This means a lot," said ENMU head coach Josh Lynn. "This is the first postseason anything for Greyhound Football since becoming Division II."

"I believe ATU is similar to Texas A&M Kingsville," said Lynn. "They are a run first football team but have extremely good talent on the outside to hurt you with the passing game.

The contest will air live on Fox Sports Go. To view the game, the Fox Sports Go application must be downloaded first. The contest also will be replayed on Time Warner Cable Sports Channel 323 in Texas markets, on December 6, at 7:30 p.m. CT. Video of the contest also will be posted on YouTube the following week.

The bowl game will mark the first-ever meeting between the programs. The Greyhounds have not met a team from the Great American Conference, since the league formed in the 2011 season.

On the Run

Arkansas Tech has been an extremely balanced team in 2015, with an explosive offense, and a stifling defense. The Wonder Boys have scored at least 30 points on six occasions and won each time. ATU also has limited the opposition to 21 or fewer points in six games, with the only losses in those contests coming in road games against East Central and Henderson State

"The whole thing is for the seniors to play another football game," said ATU head coach Raymond Monica. "The last game at home wasn't their last. They have an opportunity to do something we haven't done in a very long time."

The Wonder Boys, like ENMU finished third in their conference, behind Great American Conference champion Henderson State, and Southwestern Oklahoma State. From the GAC, Henderson State qualified for the NCAA Championships.

LSC in the Postseason

The Greyhounds are one of three LSC teams which made the postseason, as Texas A&M-Commerce and Midwestern State reached the NCAA tournament.
