PORTALES, N.M. —The National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association announced its list of 2016 Scholar Americans. The rodeo teams at Eastern New Mexico University were well represented by Lindsey Adcock, Tierra Gray, Hunter Haley, Seaver Tate, Samantha Smith, Taylor Smith, and Celie Vick

To be eligible for the NIRA awards, an athlete must be nominated by their coach, been at their respective college for more than one term, and earn a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 of a 4.0 scale. The athlete also must have earned points at a 2015-16 NIRA sanctioned rodeo.

Lindsey Adcock qualified for the College National Finals Rodeo last year and finished 26^th in the goat tying.
