PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico athletic department has recently announced the Miller Era Reunion for the weekend of Feb. 8-9.

The reunion will celebrate the 50^th anniversary of the 1969 NAIA National Championship team as well as the 1970 NAIA National Tournament Third place team, both teams that were under the guidance of legendary Eastern New Mexico men's basketball coach Harry Miler. Miller finished his Eastern New Mexico career with a record of 104-35 (.748%), making him the program's all-time winningest coach by win percentage.
 
The 1969 championship team will be honored at halftime of the Eastern New Mexico men's basketball game against Western New Mexico at 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, while the whole weekend of events will center around the "Harry Miller Era Group", which spans over the course of 1965-70. Multiple members of those record setting teams will be in attendance including Jim Guymon (ranks seventh in all-time scoring with 1,530 points), Jerry Hyder (ranks 10^th in all-time scoring with 1,316 points), and Larry Vanzant (holds record for most assists in a game and most assists in a season).
 
The 1968-69 championship team posted the most amount of points scored in a single season in Greyhound basketball history with 2,540 points as well as the most field goals made in a single season with 989. The 1969-70 team still holds the ENMU record for rebounds in a single season with 1,411.
 
In addition to his five years of service to Eastern New Mexico as a head coach, Miller competed on the hardwood for the Greyhounds from 1948-51 and ranks 25^th all-time in scoring with 958 career points. Miller's efforts helped lead his team to a record of 82-36, while qualifying for the NAIA District Tournament all four years he was a member of the program.
 
Miller concluded his playing career by being the first male athlete from Eastern New Mexico to be named an All-American following the 1951 season.
 
Following his final season on the sidelines as ENMU head coach in 1970, Miller went on to assume the head coaching role at three other institutions including North Texas, Wichita State, and Stephen F. Austin. He finished his career with an all-time coaching record of 534-374, 12 postseason tournament appearances and eight conference championships over the course of his 37-year career.
 
Commemorative programs as well as discounted tickets will be sold for Saturday's game against Western New Mexico on Feb. 9 to help honor Harry Miller and his legacy at Eastern New Mexico.
