PORTALES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico baseball team heads to No. 17 UT Tyler this weekend for a three-game conference series. The Greyhounds face the Patriots on Friday at 5 p.m. followed by a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 12 p.m.

SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS
The No. 17 nationally-ranked UT Tyler Patriots enter the weekend with an overall record of 8-4. Last weekend they went 1-2 against West Texas A&M. They won the first contest, 3-2, before falling in the remaining games by scores of 8-3 and 5-2.Â
Leading the team offensively are Kyle McShaffry, Riley Jepson, Edward Ortiz, and Jordan Gochenour. McShaffry paces the Patriots in batting average (.357) and hits (15). Jepson leads the way in RBI with 17 and also has three home runs to go with 14 hits and a .333 batting average.Â
On the mound, Austin Schneider leads the team in wins with two. Nathan Holmes has a team-low ERA of 0.00 with a 1-0 record in four appearances.Â

Eastern New Mexico enters the weekend with a 4-8 record overall and 3-8 in conference play. The Greyhounds went 3-1 last weekend at UT Permian Basin. ENMU won the first game of the weekend, 8-6, before falling 14-12 in the second. In Sunday's double-header, the Hounds won both games, 7-3.Â
Cole Luedeking ended the weekend with a batting average of .444, eight hits, two RBI, two stolen bases, and a double.
Cooper Hamilton earned the win in Friday's contest with eight strikeouts in 4.1 innings of work.Â

Luedeking leads all players in batting average with a .407.
Daniel Hunt continues to bring strong offensive firepower as he tops the team in both hits (14) and stolen bases (5-6).Â
