PORTALES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico baseball team heads to Oklahoma Christian for a three-game series this weekend. The Greyhounds and Eagles meet in a doubleheader on Friday, March 26 starting at 12 p.m. and then a single game on Saturday, March 27 at 12 p.m.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES
Oklahoma Christian enters the series with an 8-9 overall record and 7-8 mark in conference play. Last weekend, the Eagles faced No. 10 West Texas A&M and the lost all three contests by scores of 7-3, 18-2, and 11-5.Â
Chance Westervelt leads the team in batting average (.377) to go with 20 hits, five home runs, four doubles, and 19 RBI. Blake Empkey paces the squad in runs (19), Â hits (25), doubles (6), home runs (6), and RBI (22).Â
On the mound, Gabe Rodery has a team-low 3.37 ERA with a 4-0 record and 26 strikeouts in 34.2 innings of work. Julien Ly has also put in some quality innings with 23 strikeouts and a 3.86 ERA in 21 innings.Â

Eastern New Mexico enters the weekend with a 5-13 overall record and 4-13 Lone Star Conference record. Last weekend, the Greyhounds dropped three games to the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith by scores of 9-7, 7-3, and 8-2.Â
Kian Johnston had a strong performance in the close 9-7 loss as he went 2-for-3 at the plate with a home run.
Jack Thompson finished the series 4-for-8 at the plate with a double.
Braeton Matthews went 3-for-9 at the plate throughout the three contests. Â
On the mound,
Josh Lewis,
Alex Kuhn, and
Dalton Thatcher all were credited with losses on the weekend. Lewis led all pitchers in strikeouts with three.Â

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
Luedeking leads all players in batting average (.360), hits (18), and is tied for the lead in doubles (4).
Camden Matthews has also been producing well for the offense with 15 runs and 13 hits.
Braeton Matthews is a perfect 6-6 on stolen bases so far this season.Â
Josh Lewis and
Dalton Thatcher have seen the most time on the mound for the Hounds with 21 and 20.1 innings, respectively.
Cooper Hamilton has been fairly consistent on the hill with a 3.38 ERA and 17 strikeouts in 16 innings.Â
