PORTALES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico baseball team will host Wayland Baptist University at Greyhound Baseball Field on Tuesday, April 13 for non-conference doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. This is the first set of home games for the Greyhounds this season. Fans will be allowed at the games but masks and social distancing are required.Â

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
Wayland Baptist enters the afternoon with an overall record of 20-19. The Pioneers had a three-game series with Southwestern Christian University this past weekend and dropped all three contests by scores of 6-4, 9-8, and 11-10.
Luis Vargas leads the team in batting average (.480), hits (60), home runs (18), and RBI (53). Carlos Collazo has a .393 batting average to go with 59 hits, 12 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, and 37 RBI. Marco Rivera has contributed 54 hits, nine doubles, 16 home runs, and 43 RBI so far this season.
On the mound, Ty Jackson leads the team in ERA with a 5.34. Tanner Solomon has pitched a team-high 54.1 innings and had an overall record of 2-5 with 77 strikeouts. Deric Trevino leads the team in wins with four.

Eastern New Mexico enters the afternoon with an overall record of 6-21. The Greyhound dropped a three-game series at Lubbock Christian this past weekend by scores of 8-0, 17-2, and 18-6.
In the second game of the series,
Nicholas Tamez led the way for the Hounds as he went 2-3 at the plate with a home runs.
Andres Quintana paced Eastern offensively in the third game as he was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
Rio Granger leads the team in batting average (.341), while
Cole Luedeking is close behind with a .321. Luedeking also paces the team in hits with 27.
Nicholas Tamez had contributed 26 hits, five doubles, three home runs, and 16 RBI this season.
Braeton Matthews is a perfect 7-7 on stolen bases so far this season, while
Matthew Kory is 5-5.
Josh Lewis and
Dalton Thatcher have seen the most time on the mound for the Hounds with 37.0 and 32.1 innings, respectively. Lewis also leads all Eastern pitchers in strikeouts with 30.
Damian Acosta leads the way in wins with a 3-1 record.
