PORTALES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico baseball team heads to Texas A&M International for a three-game series this weekend. The Greyhounds and Dustdevils meet on Friday, April 23 for an 11 a.m. doubleheader followed by a 12 p.m. contest on Saturday.Â

SCOUTING THE DUSTDEVILS
Texas A&M International enters the weekend with an overall record of 7-22 and a Lone Star Conference record of 6-21. Last weekend, the Dustdevils dropped three games to West Texas A&M by scores of 5-0, 8-2, and 9-4.
Jerry Villareal leads the team in batting average (.391), home runs (3), and RBI (20). Philip Sanchez paces the Dustdevils in both hits (33) and doubles (8).
On the mound, Abanny Garcia has a team-low ERA of 3.11 with 40 strikeouts in 46.1 innings. Joseph Garza-Delapena had put in 42.0 innings of work and has 32 strikeouts and a 7.07 ERA.

Eastern New Mexico enters the weekend with an overall record of 6-26 and a LSC record of 5-24. Last weekend the Greyhounds dropped three games to No. 13 Angelo State by scores of 15-0, 5-1, and 19-7.
The third game in the series was the best offensive output for Eastern.
Nicholas Tamez led the way with a home run and three RBI.
Trevor Moses finished the game 2-for-2 at the plat with one RBI.
Matthew Kory added a double during the contest.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
Cole Luedeking leads the team in batting average (.310) and hits (31).
Nicholas Tamez has contributed 30 hits, five doubles, four home runs, and 21 RBI this season.
Braeton Matthews is a perfect 7-7 on stolen bases so far this season, while
Matthew Kory is 5-5 and
Camden Matthews is 9-11.
Josh Lewis and
Dalton Thatcher have seen the most time on the mound for the Hounds with 37.1 and 35.1 innings, respectively. Lewis also leads all Eastern pitchers in strikeouts with 30.
Damian Acosta leads the way in wins with a 3-1 record, while
Cooper Hamilton,
Dalton Thatcher, and
James Romero each have one win.
