PORTALES, N.M. – ENMU women's and men's basketball play a pair of games over the New Years weekend and fans can attend for free if they bring an item to donate for the department's clothing drive.
Meghan De los Reyes and the Greyhounds will get the festivities started on Dec. 30 with a 5:15 p.m. game against UTPB. The women's team is led by Deja Adrian who is dishing out 17.6 points per contest (2nd among LSC players) on 47.2% shooting from the floor. Another Hound to watch out for is Ashley Shipley who is hitting 1.86 three pointer's per match. The team sits at 5-4 (2-2 LSC) and looks to continue soaring in league standings with a pair of wins to close/open the calendar year.
Brent Owen and the men's program will complete the doubleheader on Friday night 25 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. The men are coming off two-straight conference wins against No. 19 UT Tyler and a DBU squad who has played in the NCAA Tournament in four-straight seasons. Anchoring ENMU is Errol White who is putting up 12.3 points and a conference leading 9.4 rebounds per contest. Freshman Jose Murillo has swatted 13 shot attempts which puts him fifth among all conference hoopers.
The two teams will be back at Greyhound Arena to face Angelo State on Jan. 1 with the first game tipping at 1 p.m. and the other set for 3 p.m.
Consider coming out this week to see both teams compete against tough LSC competition. As a reminder, the north doors will be closed and attendees will need to enter the arena through the south doors.
