ENMU Rodeo Completes Weekend At Ranger College Rodeo

SWEETWATER, TEXAS – The Eastern New Mexico rodeo program faced tough competition this past weekend at the Ranger College Rodeo held at the Nolan County Coliseum.

With over 180 Breakaway Ropers, 150 Barrel Racers, and 57 Goat Tiers, margins were very tight to advance to the short round of competition. A time of 2.2 seconds was the maximum for the breakaway roping, a time over 7.7 seconds for goat tying was not enough to advance to the short round.

Shacie Marr was just short of qualifying for both short rounds of the breakaway roping and goat tying. In the long round of breakaway roping, Marr clocked a time of 2.4 just missing out on the short round by 0.2 seconds. In goat tying, Marr registered a time of 8.2 seconds, missing the short round by 0.5 seconds.

Eastern New Mexico Rodeo have their next rodeo this weekend, with the Western Texas College Rodeo beginning on Thursday, Mar. 31 and ending on Saturday, Apr. 2. The festivities from Snyder, Texas will begin at 5 pm with the slack portion of competition.
