PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico baseball welcomes St. Mary's University this weekend for a four-game Lone Star Conference series. The series begins on Friday, Apr. 1, with first pitch scheduled for 6 pm. The next day, the Hounds and Rattlers are scheduled for two seven inning contests, beginning at 2 pm and 5 pm. The series finale will take place on Sunday, Apr. 3, with first pitch slated for 1 pm.
LAST TIME OUTÂ
• The Hounds return to the field after taking one game in a four-game series with Oklahoma Christian.
• The Eagles finished on top in the first two games of the series, 6-2 and 9-8 (9 Inn.), as ENMU claimed the third game, 2-1. Eastern fell in the final game 2-0.
• In the Hounds win,
Ruger Bravo tossed all seven innings giving up just one run with a career high nine strikeouts. ENMU scored both runs in the third frame as Bravo took the Hounds over the line for a win.
SCOUTING THE RATTLERSÂ
• St. Mary's so far this season have a record of 11-19, with a 9-19 record in LSC action. Recently, the Rattlers took one game from West Texas A&M in a four-game series. StMU beat the Buffs 10-3 in game three, after a seven run fourth inning.
• Collectively, St. Mary's hold a .277 batting average with 185 runs scored from 252 hits. The Rattlers bats have provided 166 RBI's and an on base percentage of .395. StMU pitching hold an ERA of 8.06, surrendering 264 runs this season with an opposing batting average of .326.
