PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico return to the diamond this weekend in Lubbock, Texas for a four-game series against #23 Lubbock Christian University. The conference series begins on Friday, Apr. 8, with a nine-inning contest beginning at 6 pm. The next day, ENMU has a doubleheader on schedule at 1 pm and 4 pm, set for seven innings each. The series concludes on Sunday, Apr. 10, with a first pitch of 12 pm in a nine-inning game. The national ranking is based on the latest National Colligate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) poll.

LAST TIME OUT 

• In its last series, the Hounds took three games from St. Mary's University. Picking up wins: 12-9, 4-3, and 17-12 over the Rattlers.
• In game one, the Hounds made StMU pay for the extra base runners and scoring 10 runs in the first two innings. Eastern finished with 13 walks on the night and supplied eight hits in a 12-9 win.
• In game three, ENMU picked up a walk-off win after an RBI single from Cooper Hamilton to win 4-3. Ruger Bravo kept the Hounds in the contest with a complete game on the mound, with 10 strikeouts and allowing just three runs.
• For the final game of the series, Eastern scored a season high 17 runs in a 17-12 win. Nick Schifftner led the team with three hits and four RBIs on the afternoon.

SCOUTING THE CHAPARRALS 

• Recently, #23 Lubbock Christian split a weekend series with #5 West Texas A&M. LCU picked up two wins, 8-5 and 7-3, while dropping two games, 6-3 and 12-4.
• On the season, the Chaps hold a batting average of .330 with 272 runs scored on 359 hits. On the hill, Lubbock Christian have an ERA of 5.94, giving up 208 runs, with 239 strikeouts and an opposing batting average of .278.
• At the plate, Luis Navarro supplies a batting average of .395, with 45 hits and a team high 38 RBIs. Eduardo Acosta holds the team lead in hits with 47, and George Mendazona is not far behind with 46 hits.
• On the mound, three different pitchers have recorded four wins: Shandon Herrera (4-2), Ethan Coombes (4-2), and Colton Brown (4-0). Herrera leads the squad in innings pitched with 46.2 innings, along with a 4.74 ERA in seven starts this season.  

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS 

• After taking three games over the weekend, the Greyhounds have a 14-18 record with a 13-17 standing in LSC play. ENMU hitters collectively have a .263 batting average, scoring 186 runs on 262 hits. Eastern pitchers have a combined ERA of 7.07, conceding 246 runs with 222 strikeouts.
• Spencer Roach leads the team with a .366 batting average along with 41 hits. Schifftner is second on the team with a .333 BA, nut leads the team with 26 RBIs. Camden Matthews also hits over .300, with a .304 average
• Bravo leads the team in wins this season on the mound with a 4-3 record, picking up four wins in his last five starts. Dalton Thatcher holds a team low ERA at 3.09, while Damian Acosta has a team high 59 strikeouts this season.
