ENMU Men's Basketball Adds Jahcoree Ealy

Ealy Comes To Portales After Three Seasons at Connors State

PORTALES, N.M. – Having recently captured a NJCAA Region 2 Championship, former Connors State standout Jahcoree Ealy has joined Eastern New Mexico Men's Basketball, as announced by Head Coach Brent Owen. Ealy will join his teammate at Connors State, Greg Johnson, on the Greyhounds roster.

Ealy filled the stats sheet with the Cowboys, starting all 33 games he played in for the 2021-22 season. In that time, Ealy averaged 15.4 points per game, on 59.2% shooting from the floor, with 4.3 assists per game. On defense, Ealy poked out 1.5 steals per game, dished out 1.9 blocks per game, and collected 6.0 rebounds per game. The 6'6" guard helped his team to a NJCAA Division I Tournament appearance and finish with  28-6 record.

"In 12 years of college recruiting Jahcoree is one of the most versatile players I have seen," said Owen. "He has the ability to play any position on the perimeter offensively and is long enough and fast enough to defend every position on the court. His numbers in junior college speak for themselves," said Owen. "He was top 50 in the nation in multiple categories this season while tallying 1,365 points, 500 rebounds, 364 assists with a 2:1 assist to turnover ratio, 130 steals, and 157 blocks during his career," said Owen. "He is a great young man and plays very hard which will make him a pleasure for our fans to watch. Jahcoree has graduated with his associate's degree and will be pursuing his bachelor's degree at ENMU," said Owen.

Ealy becomes the eighth signing of the 2022 recruiting class to join ENMU Men's Basketball. Jose Murillo, Dwayne Chester, Malique Oates, Grehlon Easter, Alex Bossinakis, Greg Johnson, and Błażej Czerniewicz signed with the program earlier this year. Owen and his staff completed their first season in 2021-22 after the Hounds missed out on the 2020-21 season.
