RICHARDSON, Texas-Â The Lone Star Conference has announced its 2023-24 LSC Women's Basketball Preseason Poll as voted upon by coaches and representatives across the league on Monday afternoon. The Eastern New Mexico women's basketball program was selected to finish 11th, picking up 248 total points.

Angelo State took the top spot in the poll, following a LSC Regular Season West Division Championship and LSC Tournament Championship, earning 652 points and 15 first place votes. Texas Woman's just fell short in second place, garnering the most first place votes (17), with 633 total points. After reaching the elite eight in last season's NCAA DII Tournament, UT Tyler was positioned to finish third with 627 total points and nine first place votes. Rounding out the top five, Lubbock Christian landed in fourth with 606 total points and three first place votes, while West Texas A&M finished fifth with 524 total points.

In addition to the poll, the conference announced its Co-Preseason Players of the Year, being awarded to Grace Foster of Lubbock Christian and Sawyer Llyod of Angelo State. Additionally,
Deja Adrian was named an LSC Player to Watch for the upcoming season on the Greyhounds. Adrian earned LSC Newcomer of the Year and an 1
st Team All-LSC selection during the 2022-23 season. Last season, the Greyhounds narrowly missed the postseason with a 12-15 standing and a 9-13 record in conference play. ENMU received a handful of accolades with three all-conference honorees.
The Greyhounds have a new look this season, led by new head coach
Blake Huber. Huber retains four members of the 2022-23 squad, while bringing in 12 recruits, along with assistant coaches
Chris Burks and
Vasha Moore. Adrian and
Ashley Shipley both return after leading ENMU in scoring last season, while a recruiting class featuring Division I transfers, junior college products, and true freshman will make up the rest of the ENMU roster

Eastern New Mexico open the regular season at home against Fort Lewis on Nov. 10 at 2:30 p.m. as part of the 2023 South Central Region Crossover held at Greyhound Arena (Nov. 10-11
th). In total eight games will be played over two days, with ENMU WBB playing a pair of contests, and ENMU MBB also playing two games.
