Men’s basketball introduces Liam Canty to recruiting class

Transfer forward comes to ENMU via Adams State

PORTALES, N.M. – Division II transfer Liam Canty will compete for Eastern New Mexico in 2023-24. He comes to Portales from Adams State where he appeared in 15 games.

"Liam has good length and the ability to shoot the ball," said head coach Brent Owen on the transfer. "He is a great student and plays smart on the floor. We are excited to get in the gym with him and believe his best days are ahead."

One of Canty's top games came against nationally ranked Black Hills State (12/30/22) where he scored eight points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out three assists. He earned his first career start against Colorado Mesa (12/17/22) and put up five points, five rebounds, and two blocks.

Before his time at ASU, he played for a prep academy in San Antonio, Texas called Strength and Motion.

The Norman, Oklahoma native played basketball at Community Christian where his team went 18-3 during the 2019-20 season and he earned honorable mention honors for the Greater Metro Athletic Conference.
