PORTALES, N.M. – St. Louis native Tre'Von Love will suit up for Eastern New Mexico this upcoming season.
"Tre is a tough guard who loves to defend and can shoot the ball. He has the ability to play as the lead guard running the team or as a shooter/playmaker off the ball," said head coach
Brent Owen on Love. "He was a three-time state champion coming from one of the best high schools in St. Louis and then went on to develop a great reputation in the Texas junior college ranks. We are excited to add him and expect him to make an immediate impact."
The 6-1 point guard comes to Portales after two years at Navarro College where he played in 51 contests. As a sophomore he started in 25 games and appeared in 31 while averaging 11.8 points per game and earning honorable mention all-conference honors. His career-high came against Southern University-Shreveport (11/21/22) as he went 6-for-9 from three-point range on his way to scoring 30 points.
He helped the team go 33-28 during his time in Corsicana, Texas, including a win over Texas Junior College (3/7/23) in the opening round of the Region XIV tournament.
Love played his prep basketball at Vashon where he helped the team win three-straight state championships. Over those three seasons the program went 68-9.
