Greyhounds head to Lakewood, Colo. for single contest with Colorado Christian

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Soccer play its final non-conference match of the season this Friday, Sept. 15, as the travel to face Colorado Christian. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. from Trailblazer Stadium.

Admission to the contest costs $10 for adults, $5 for children, and entrance is free for those under five years old.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

  • The Greyhounds played three games over five days last week, finishing 1-1-1. Eastern produced a thrilling 2-1 victory over New Mexico Highlands. In the win over the Cowgirls, Nina Ballesteros started the scoring, while Emma Hafenbrak scored the game winner with 90 seconds left in the game. After a 3-0 defeat to Drury, ENMU closed the week with a 3-3 draw with Quincy. Sydney Saxon was involved in every goal (two goals and one assist), while Hafenbrak scored, and Haley Huff provided a pair of assists.
  • After their first five games, the Greyhounds have scored six goals this season, finding 8.4 shots per game. Half of those shots found the target, with ENMU scoring on 14.3% of their shots.
  • Following a high scoring week, Saxon leads the Greyhounds with five points with Hafenbrak and Huff contributing four points. Saxon and Hafenbrak each scored twice, while Huff and Ballesteros also found the back of the net this season. Huff paces the Greyhounds with two assists in their first five games. Samantha Jeffries has started all five games for ENMU in net, making 14 saves so far this season with a goal against average of 1.44.

SCOUTING COLORADO CHRISTIAN

  • The Cougars currently stand at 0-2-1 after the first two weeks. Most recently, Colorado Christian earned a 1-1 draw with UT Permian Basin. The CCU goals came in the final 20 minutes after dominating the game's shot attempts and shots on goal.
  • Overall, Colorado Christian finds 13.3 shots per game with 32.5% of those shots going on goal. The Cougars have scored twice this season, with one goal being assisted. Defensively, CCU has allowed four goals in three games.
  • Skylee Deladurantaye and Jessica Sims have scored the goals this season, while Deladurantaye has an assist. Capri Dewing has 18 shots this season, leading the team.
