PORTALES, N.M. – It's time for Eastern New Mexico University men's basketball. The program will play two exhibition, six nonconference and 22 conference games this season with 15 at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena.
"Our schedule is front loaded with some exciting matchups," said head coach Daven Võ. "I am very excited to play in front of our passionate fans as we pursue our goal to be the very best in the Lone Star Conference."
Both exhibitions will be held this month. The Greyhounds will head to Tucson, Ariz. for an October 21 matchup with Arizona. The Wildcats finished the 2023-24 season as the No. 12 team in the nation. The following week, ENMU will go back west to face Grand Canyon on October 29. The Antelopes ended last season receiving votes in the final AP poll.
The regular season begins November 8 with the South Central Region Crossover. ENMU will travel to Durango, Colo. to face a pair of RMAC (Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) foes – Fort Lewis and New Mexico Highlands.
The Hounds will then host six-straight contests in Portales. They will bring back Youth Day November 14 against Navajo Tech and will face another RMAC team November 20 when Metro State comes into town.
ENMU's first Lone Star Conference game will be November 23 as they host 2023-24 regular season conference champions West Texas A&M. Eastern is expected to face Justice College November 30 for a midday nonconference game.
Lone Star Conference play continues with Oklahoma Christian coming to town December 5 and Cameron visiting December 7.
Eastern New Mexico's first conference road trip will be a meeting with Texas A&M International December 15 and a game versus Texas A&M-Kingsville December 17.
The Greyhounds will come back home for the final nonconference game of the season versus Navajo Tech December 20. ENMU will then take a two-week break before going straight back into LSC action.
ENMU will be home versus Lubbock Christian January 3 and against Midwestern State January 5 to ring in the new year.
The first away trip in 2025 will consist of matchups with UT Permian Basin January 9 and Angelo State January 11. The Hounds will return to Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena for two matchups. The first set for January 16 against Sul Ross State and an in-state battle with Western New Mexico January 18.
Next up for the Hounds will be four-straight road games. The trip begins versus UT Tyler January 23 and continues January 25 against DBU. ENMU will then travel to Midwestern State January 30 before opening the new month facing Lubbock Christian February 1.
The team will be back in Portales against Angelo State February 6 and host UT Permian Basin February 8. ENMU will then travel to Silver City for a contest at Western New Mexico February 13 and a game on the road versus Sul Ross State.
The final home games of the season will be against St. Edwards February 20 and St. Mary's February 22. The last game of the regular season is at West Texas A&M February 27.
Lone Star Conference basketball championship tournament remains at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. The conference championships are slated for March 7-9.
Season tickets for the 2024-25 season are now available.
"This is one of the hardest places to play in the Lone Star," said Võ. "The advantage of our home games can be reflected in our home record over the last three seasons. We were among the top teams in conference home attendance last season, and I only expect that to get better."
Single game tickets will be ready for purchase at a later date.
