PORTALES, N.M. – With the season opener just over one month away, Head ENMU Women's Soccer Coach Eric Belcher has announced the 2024 schedule for the Greyhounds. ENMU will have 17 matches in the regular season, playing 10 games at home, including 13 games against Lone Star Conference teams.
The Greyhounds open the season at home for the first time since 2021, when they welcome Adams State on Thursday, Sept. 5 to Al Whitehead Field at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium. The weekend continues in Portales, with Eastern facing Fort Lewis on Saturday, Sept. 7.
Following the opening home weekend, ENMU makes its only trip to the Centennial State to face Western Colorado on Sept. 12. The Greyhounds play the Mountaineers in their only road non-conference game of the season, last playing the WCU in 2021 during a 1-0 victory. Eastern New Mexico ends its non-conference schedule at home, facing Colorado Christian on Sept. 22.
Eastern starts off LSC action on home turf, facing close rival West Texas A&M on Sept. 25. Soon after, the Greyhounds take on conference newcomer Sul Ross State facing the Lobos on Sept. 28. ENMU will face SRSU for the first time in program history, making the journey to Alpine, Texas.
As the calendar rolls to October, ENMU heads to Lubbock Christian (Oct. 2) to continue conference play. Next, UT Tyler comes to Portales, N.M. on Oct. 5 as part of a homecoming weekend, where five athletic events will take place on Saturday homecoming (cross country, men's soccer, women's soccer, volleyball, and football).
The Greyhounds then battle Midwestern State on Oct. 9, to conclude a quick two game homestand. Eastern heads back to Texas, traveling to the state capital (Austin) to face St. Edward's on Oct. 12. After a weekend in Austin, the Greyhounds make a midweek trip to Texas Woman's, contesting the Pioneers in Denton, Texas on Oct. 16.
Eastern New Mexico plays their final weekend home games in succession just before the end of the month. The Greyhounds face Angelo State on Saturday, Oct. 19, then have a full week to prepare for their next contest. That next game will be senior day as St. Mary's comes to Portales from San Antonio on Oct. 26.
Before the end of October, the Greyhounds make their only trip to Oklahoma to face Oklahoma Christian in Edmond. From then, the Greyhounds play three games in a span of a week, starting with home games against Texas A&M International (Nov. 1) and UT Permian Basin (Nov. 4). Finally, the Greyhounds wrap up the regular season in Texas, facing reigning conference champions DBU on Nov. 7.
