Keyanah Browning assumes full time coaching position with ENMU cross country, track & field

Head coach Joshua Harden promotes Keyanah Browning to assistant coach for both programs

PORTALES, N.M. – Head coach Joshua Harden has promoted Keyanah Browning to be a full-time assistant coach for Eastern New Mexico University cross country and track and field. Browning served as a graduate assistant to both programs during the 2023-24 season.

"Coach Key is ready for this new jump," said Harden on the promotion. "She made a great impact for our program in so many ways last year and I am happy that she accepted the offer to stay with us in a full-time role."

Keyanah Browning, a native of Houston, Texas, will directly oversee the distance crew at ENMU.

In her time as a graduate assistant in Portales, Eastern New Mexico had three all-americans, nine USTFCCCA all-region honorees, and 15 all-LSC finishers. She also helped the women's program earn third place at the 2024 LSC outdoor track and field championships – the program's best finish ever.

During the 2023 cross country season, she helped with team planning and practice. Browning helped ENMU as the host of the 2023 Lone Star Conference Cross Country Championships.

Prior to working for the Greyhounds, she was at Post University in Waterbury, Connecticut where she was a graduate assistant coach. She helped coach mid-distance and plan team functions.

Before her coaching career began, she competed at fellow Lone Star Conference member Cameron University.

While with the Aggies, she earned three top-50 finishes in cross country and ran five different events for the track team – 200m, 400m, 4x100, 4x400, and DMR. She was a member of the dean's list for two years at CU.

In her last season in Lawton, Oklahoma, she was able to begin coaching duties as she worked with sprinters and the distance crew during a period of time where an injury took her away from competition.

In 2021, Browning earned a bachelor's in sports and exercise science with a minor in education from Cameron.
