RICHARDSON, Texas – Eastern New Mexico Women's Soccer has been picked 13
th in the LSC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday morning. The preseason poll is voted upon by coaches and representatives across the league.

Reigning LSC and Tournament Champions, DBU, was selected to finish in first place with 587 total points and 41 first-place votes. St. Mary's was the next best with 519 total points to take second place. Angelo State was not far behind with 500 total points for third place, while Texas Woman's (456 total points), and Midwestern State (420 total points) finished 4
th and 5
th, respectively.

In addition to the preseason poll, the conference announced its preseason players of the year awards. DBU's Taylor Tufts (Offensive) and Parker Coe (Defensive) picked up honors, while Amanda Farris from Texas Woman's was named Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.

Eastern New Mexico carry a squad of 39 student-athletes with 15 returners, 24 newcomers, and 17 true freshmen. The team features 11 seniors, with a few key returners playing significant minutes in 2023. In addition to preseason players of the year, the Lone Star Conference announced the LSC Women's Players to Watch, with
Abby Ditzler (Offensive),
Sierra Villanueva (Defensive), and
Yaritza Pelayo (Goalkeeper) all being recognized.
The Greyhounds will face a 17-game season, with 10 of those matches taking place at Steve Loy Family Foundation Stadium. ENMU play their opening weekend at home, battling Adams State in the season opener at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5. Eastern ends the opening weekend in Portales, with Fort Lewis playing the Greyhounds on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 11 a.m.
