ENMU faces #20 Lubbock Christian in first game of 2025

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball welcomes in the new year with a home game against #20 Lubbock Christian on Friday, January 3. First tip from Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena is 5 p.m.

SERIES INSIGHT

  • Both teams are neck and neck in the all-time series, with the Greyhounds holding a 24-21 edge over the Chaps.

The eight-game winning streak is its longest since 2000, while ENMU has begun conference play undefeated for the first time since 2016-17. Most recently, ENMU fell in an exhibition against UTEP, 50-48.
  • The Greyhounds lead the LSC in scoring (76.7 ppg, 22nd in DII), while giving up just 54.0 ppg, holding a league best +22.7 scoring (7th in DII). The Greyhounds also top the conference in rebounds (43.8 rpg), offensive rebounds (16.7 rpg), opponent rebounds (29.5 rpg), rebounding margin (+14.3 rpg). SCOUTING THE #20 CHAPARRALS

  • The Lady Chaps enter Friday's contest with a #20 ranking in the latest Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll. LCU is 10-3 overall on the season, holding a 4-1 conference record. In recent weeks, Lubbock Christian has played four nationally ranked teams in their last five games, going 1-3 in that stretch. LCU last played #25 Embry-Riddle (FL) (12/19) and #3 Montana State-Billings (12/20), falling in both games during the Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas, Nev.
  • Lubbock Christian is statistically one of the top teams in the conference, scoring 65.2 ppg and allowing 55.2 ppg (+10.1 margin). LCU is third in conference for field goal percentage (43.0 FG%), second in the LSC for three-point shooting (34.9 3PT FG%), and hitting 77.0% of free throws (2nd in LSC).
