Eastern New Mexico men's cross country previews AP Ranch course in prep for LSC championships

FORT WORTH, Texas – Eastern New Mexico men's cross country ran in one of the biggest meets of the season as they competed at the DBU Old Glory Gallop. The meet featured 44 programs, including nine from the Lone Star Conference. The team took 29th overall in the field.

"Being in this environment forced them to lay everything out on the line," said assistant coach Keyanah Browning when asked about the team's ability to compete at a larger meet. "They really pushed themselves and I think they did solid."

One of the major highlights was seeing ENMU's top two runners cross the line in personal record fashion. Freshman Eloy Serrano Borrego took 101st in a field of 456 runners. He completed the competition in 25:56.36. Sophomore Thomas Aerdts ran 27:52.46 to finish in the middle of the pack.

Other runners for ENMU included Jackson Gable (28:39.71), Emmanuel Hernandez (29:12.25), and Brian Norton (29:20.20).

"Previewing the course lets us know what we need to work on and what parts of the course we may fall asleep on," said Browning.

The 2025 Lone Star Conference cross country championship is slated for October 25 at the same course. Attending the meet offered the Greyhounds an opportunity to compete against others in the conference and see how the course runs.
