RICHARDSON, Texas - The Lone Star Conference honored 14 student-athletes with 15 different all-conference accolades as announced today. The highest total of all-LSC honorees since the 2019 season (18).
"I am so proud of these guys," said interim head coach
Andrew McCraw. "They truly earned this recognition."
Two Eastern New Mexico student-athletes found themselves on the first team all-LSC list.
Freshman
Demarion Finch was named a first teamer as a full back. Finch had an impressive latter half of the season as he became a regular starter after the injury bug hit the ENMU backfield. The first year player scored in seven of the nine games he appeared in.
Finch ran for 120+ yards in three games in his freshman campaign and had three games with multiple rushing scores. In his first game as a starter, he helped the team beat Midwestern State on the road, 56-31, with 20 carries for 93 yards and two scores. He added one touchdown reception for 28 yards during the victory. He was the team's second leading rusher in the program's record breaking performance against Western New Mexico where he posted 127 yards on just 15 carries.
Overall, he ran for 663 yards and 10 touchdowns and averaged 4.8 yards per carry. The Lubbock, Texas native graduated from Coronado high school and was an all-district honoree.
Long snapper
Dillon Hein earned first team honors for the first time in his career. The Las Cruces, N.M. native is now a three-time all-Lone Star Conference selection.
"I am crazy excited for all of the guys who made it. It's cool for everybody," said Hein when asked about the recognition. "Special thanks go out to my teammates, especially Ryan (Travis). I appreciate him."
Hein has played in 39 games as a Greyhound. He has been the everyday long snapper during his tenure with ENMU. He helped the team rank second in punting average with a 38.9 net punting average. The Hounds also made 37 point after attempts along with four field goals this season with Hein snapping for all of those tries.
Second team honorees include
Jarius Stewart (all-purpose) and
J.J. Silver (outside linebacker).
Stewart battled through injuries for a portion of the 2025 season, but still managed to earn this recognition as an all purpose player. The second year Greyhound appeared as a quarterback and slot back for the Hounds. He most notably broke the NCAA record for most rushing yards by a quarterback in a single game with 382 against Western New Mexico. He finished the season with 133 carries for 848 yards and averaged 6.4 yards per carry. Stewart added 10 rushing scores to his name. Passing wise, he went 11-for-24 for 226 yards and two touchdowns.
J.J. Silver is a redshirt sophomore who has played three seasons for the program. Silver earns his first all-LSC honors after a season where he totaled 53 tackles, including two for loss. He caught one interception, earned two pass breakups, and tallied five quarterback pressures. In a win over Sul Ross State, he posted seven tackles, two QB hurries, and two pass deflections. Silver now has 92 career tackles.
There were 11 Greyhounds who earned all-LSC honorable mention. Those include
Matthew Pinion (OG),
Christian Griego (OT),
Nathan Jim (C),
Dathan Yeary (TE),
Jarius Stewart (RB),
Chad Ragle (RB),
DJ Moore (DE),
Matthew Quartieri (ILB),
Jarrion Patton (CB),
Cyrus Moore (S), and
Ryan Travis (P).
Pinion, Griego, Jim, and Yeary helped the program as part of the offensive line. The group was an important reason why the Greyhounds led the Lone Star Conference in rushing yards.
Stewart and Ragle spent time as quarterbacks and slot backs throughout the season, but were both recognized as running backs by the conference.
Defensively, Moore stayed healthy this season and produced a 39-tackle year along with nine tackles for loss. He also matched his 2024 total with three sacks. Quartieri earned his first LSC honors after boasting 89 tackles with 10.5 for loss. He also added two interceptions. Patton was named an all-conference performer after securing four pass deflections, an interception, and 19 tackles.
Travis earned his first all-LSC recognition after finishing second in the conference with a 42.4 yard per punt average. He improved more than six yards per punt this season in that category. His longest punt went for 65 yards and he accomplished that feat twice.
The Hounds had the seventh most all-conference players in the Lone Star.
