ENMU begins final home weekend of the season against St. Edward's

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Basketball begins its final home weekend of the season, playing St. Edward's on Thursday, February 20, with first tip scheduled for 5 p.m. from Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena.

SERIES INSIGHT

  • Eastern and St. Edward's meet for just the seventh time in program history, with the all-time series being split at 3-3. Four of those meetings have been LSC games, with the teams sporting a 2-2 record.
  • Last season's meeting was the conference opener for both teams, with St. Edward's coming out on top with 73-62 victory over the Greyhounds in Portales (11/30/23). The 11-point gap was the largest margin of victory by the Hilltoppers in the series.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

  • Riding a four-game winning streak, Eastern New Mexico currently sit in a tie for 4th place in the LSC with just three conference games remaining. Sitting at 17-8 on the season and 12-7 in LSC play, the Greyhounds just need one more victory to assure a place in the Lone Star Conference Tournament. Recently, ENMU was included in the first NCAA Regional Ranking poll.
  • Eastern is the highest scoring team in the LSC with 71.6 ppg, allowing 61.5 ppg. The Greyhounds are one of the better rebounding teams in the LSC, finding 40.4 rpg (3rd in LSC), while allowing 32.8 rpg (5th in LSC), leading to the 2nd best rebounding margin in the conference (+7.6). From the field, ENMU is shooting 43.4% from the field, hitting 35.0% of three pointers (2nd in LSC), and connecting on 68.5% of free throws. Defensively, the Greyhounds have a conference high 10.3 spg, along with 3.2 bpg (4th in LSC).
  • Ishuana Hunter and Nataya Lockett are averaging 11.1 ppg and 10.6 ppg, respectively, to lead the Greyhounds. Jayla Smith adds an important 9.5 ppg, along with a team best 6.3 rpg.
