PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Baseball put their four-game winning streak on the line this weekend, facing Oklahoma Christian in a four-game series this weekend at Greyhounds Baseball Field. The series opener is on Friday evening (March 28), beginning at 6 p.m. The two teams return the next day to play a doubleheader, Saturday March 29, set to begin at 3 and 6 p.m. Both teams conclude the series on Sunday, March 30, beginning at 1 p.m.

SERIES INSIGHT

• The Greyhounds have the edge in the all-time series, leading 10-9 over the Eagles, with a 8-7 conference standing in conference play.
• Eastern has enjoyed recent success against the Eagles winning eight of the last 10 meetings between the two programs. ENMU took three road games last season, while enjoying a four-game sweep in 2023 against the Eagles.
• Last season, the Greyhounds scored more than 10 runs in every game, with their only loss coming on a 14-13 walk off home run. ENMU won the opening two games, 16-12 and 22-6, while winning the series finale 13-5.

The offense averaged over 20 runs per game, hitting 17 home runs over that time. ENMU set season records for runs (27), hits (26), and RBIs (26) during the 27-8 (7 Inn.) series finale victory.
• As a team, Eastern is hitting .335 this season, scoring 270 runs from 313 hits. ENMU has driven in 244 runs, recording 73 doubles, 15 triples, and 36 home runs. On the mound, the Greyhounds pitching staff has a 6.59 ERA, striking out 176 batters, allowing 204 runs from 297 hits.
• Willie Ponce has had an outstanding opening two months, batting .456 with 47 hits, including 12 doubles, holding a .718 slugging percentage and .548 on-base percentage. Cole Lancaster is the team's leader with 38.0 IP, while being the joint leader in strikeouts (30). Nick Mooney and Lancaster both have started eight times this season, while Adrian Rubio is a key member from the bullpen with 30 strikeouts over 26.0 IP in relief.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

• Oklahoma Christian sits at 7-22 overall this season, while holding a 6-22 conference record.
