Adrian Rubio Named LSC Pitcher of the Week

Rubio is the first Greyhound to win pitcher of the week since 2017

RICHARDSON, Texas — Eastern New Mexico Baseball's Adrian Rubio has been recognized as the Lone Star Conference (LSC) Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. The El Paso, Texas native earns their first player of the week accolade of their career and becomes the first Greyhound to get an LSC weekly this season. Additionally, Rubio becomes the first Greyhound to win pitcher of the week since 2017, and the first in the Riley Price era.

Rubio earned the victory in the Greyhounds 6-5 (11 Inn.) walk-off win over Lubbock Christian, helping the Greyhounds secure a conference split with the Chaps for the first time in program history. Rubio fanned five batters over six relief innings, allowing just two hits and two walks. Over the final three innings of his outing, Rubio faced the minimum nine batters.

ENMU heads to #3 Angelo State for their next conference series, playing the Rams in a four-game series beginning on Thursday, April 17. First pitch of the series opener is set for 5:30 p.m. (MST) / 6:30 p.m. (CST).
