PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico men's basketball is hosting two camps this summer. One camp will be a youth camp and the other will be a team camp.
"We want to invite kids that want to improve their game. Players are made in the summer. Camp will be packed with a lot of skills, drills, and most importantly competition. It will be a ton of fun and a great time to learn from the Greyhounds," said head coach Daven Võ when asked about the youth camp.
Youth camp is going to be June 9-11. The camp will run from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. each day. Lunch will be provided and a concession stand will be opening during those times.
The camp will feature opportunities to work with Eastern New Mexico men's basketball student-athletes and coaches. They will work on developing basketball skills with drills and the opportunity to compete in games.
"The team camp is one of the best events of the summer," said Võ when speaking on the team camp. "We will have several teams from around the region compete at Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena. It will be a great opportunity for these programs to compete against different teams in a collegiate arena."
Team camp brings several regionally-based high school programs to Portales June 26-28. The teams will play in five games, a lightning tournament, and a single elimination tournament with awards going to winning teams. There is an opportunity for teams to stay overnight at on-campus dorms with a meal option provided. There will also be a commuter price offered. All participants will receive a t-shirt.
