PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico men's basketball has found center Modibo Sanogo to add to their roster for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
"Modibo (Sanogo) is a proven winner who will add toughness and physicality to our program," said head coach Daven Võ.
Sanogo comes from Barton Community College where he was a member of the program for three seasons. He played at BCC with former Greyhound
Cougar Downing from 2021-23 and will reunite with current Hound
Cooper Jackson who he teamed with in the 2022-23 season when he redshirted. He also played for Florida Southwestern State during the 2020-21 season.
In his first year (2021-22) at BCC, he played 28 games with 5.3 points a game and a 50.0 three-point percentage. He helped his team make it to the second round of the NJCAA national tournament in his final year (2024-25) with the Cougars. He averaged 10.5 points and 5.4 rebounds and shot 52.9% from the field and 70.8% from the charity stripe. Sanogo added eight games scoring in double figures and was among the top free throw shooters on his team.
Originally from Bamako, Mali, Sanogo came to the United States to play for Central Pointe Christian Academy in Kissimmee, Fla. averaging 14 points and six rebounds per contest. He helped his team to a state championship, along with a world vice championship.
