Sheridan comes to Eastern New Mexico with key higher education leadership experience

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico has hired Shali Sheridan as the athletics department's assistant athletic director for student success.

"I'm really excited about this role and the opportunity to support our student-athletes," said Shali Sheridan. "As a former student-athlete, I understand the commitment it takes to do well on and off the court. I am looking forward to enhancing the student-athlete experience at Eastern New Mexico University."

Most recently, Sheridan advised students at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee as a student success advisor in the office of graduate and adult education.

From 2023-24, she was a student services intern for Vanderbilt Athletics. In the role, she provided academic support for student-athletes. Sheridan assisted in building class schedules and working alongside coaches.

She also brings experience working with a professional sports organization. Sheridan was a stadium operations assistant for the Tennessee Titans where she played a key role supporting game day logistics and coordinating both large-scale events and private functions.

During the 2022 season, Sheridan served as director of operations for the Belmont women's soccer program. She helped by creating team travel itineraries, serving as a point of contact for opponents, and organizing team functions.

Prior to her time in Nashville, she served as a sports information graduate assistant at Dickinson State in North Dakota. In the role, she ran video streaming and assisted the media team by conducting post-game interviews.

Sheridan got her start in working in higher education while pursuing her associate's degree at Williston State College in North Dakota. She served as a tutor in math, science, and writing classes.

The Greyhounds newest staff member was a basketball student-athlete at both Williston State and Dickinson State. In 2018, she was honored as an NJCAA academic all-american.

Sheridan hails from Faith, South Dakota, but is no stranger to the Land of Enchantment as she spent some of her childhood in central New Mexico.

She began her role with ENMU July 28.
